One experienced operator covering an entire event end to end, or a full team when the programme needs it. We size the crew to the event, not the other way round.

The solo crew model

The solo crewmodel.

The solo crewmodel.

The solo crewmodel.

Most events do not need a crew of five. They need one person who can shoot, record sound, take photographs and still be in the right room at the right time. That is a specific skill, and it is what we built the solo model around.

It keeps the cost down and it keeps your event quiet. One person moves through a room in a way a three-person crew never can, which matters when the thing you are filming is a conversation.

/ 01 · SESSIONS

Every session, three parallel tracks

Every session, three parallel tracks

All three tracks recorded across both days, using the venue’s existing AV rather than duplicating it. Camera, presentation feed and audio from the desk.

/ 02 · PHOTOGRAPHY

Full photographic coverage

Full photographic coverage

Speakers, audience, sponsor stands and the corridor conversations, shot across the same two days by the same person.

/ 03 · RECAP

A recap film of the event

A recap film of the event

A one to two minute recap carried by what attendees said on camera, cut from footage shot across both days.

/ 04 · THE POINT

That was one operator

That was one operator

Two days, three tracks, photography, a recap and every session recorded, delivered by one person working with the venue’s own AV. That is the ceiling of what solo can do, and it is higher than most people expect.

Recap film

Recap film

One to two minutes, built on attendee interviews rather than music over crowd shots.

/ 02

Session recordings

Session recordings

Each talk captured with the slides and desk audio, delivered named and ordered by programme.

/ 03

Short vertical clips

Short vertical clips

Captioned cuts for social, sized for the platform, because most people watch without sound.

/ 04

Photography

Photography

A press selection during the event and the full edited gallery afterwards.

/ 05

Sponsor content

Sponsor content

Short interviews at partner stands, so sponsors have something of their own to publish.

/ 06

Speaker content

Speaker content

Each speaker gets their own segment, which is the cheapest reach an event can buy.

Is the programme running in parallel?

Is the programme running in parallel?

If two or more rooms run at the same time, one person cannot cover both and will always have to drop something. At that point a second operator costs less than the sessions you lose.

Do you want photography and video at the same standard?

Do you want photography and video at the same standard?

One person can do both well on a smaller event. On a busy day, something gives. If both matter equally, split the roles.

Are we building a studio?

Are we building a studio?

An Event Talks Studio build needs a dedicated team. One operator cannot run a two-camera studio and cover the floor at the same time.

Awards and ceremonies

Multi-camera stage coverage without multi-camera cost

For awards we run several cameras locked to a shared timecode, then sync them in the edit. You get cuts between angles across the whole ceremony without paying for a gallery and a director on the night. That is how we cover the Industry Eagles Awards at the Bentley Hotel with a solo crew.

In their words

He stepped in at the last minute, travelling to the UK and getting everything set up independently across both days without any fuss. The final edited versions were sent over to us quickly, providing professional recordings that really show off the heart of our community.

Common questions

Common questions.

Common questions.

Common questions.

Can one person really cover a whole conference?

Yes, within limits. At nor(DEV):con one operator covered two days and three parallel tracks, delivering full photography, a recap film and every session recorded.

When do we need more than one?

Once two or more rooms run at the same time, or if you want photography and video at the same standard on a busy day. A studio build also needs a dedicated team.

Do you work with our venue’s AV team?

Yes, and we prefer to. Where a venue already has cameras or a sound desk we plug into it rather than duplicating it, which is what we did at nor(DEV):con.

What do we get afterwards?

A recap film, the session recordings, short vertical clips for social and the photography. Finished content is delivered within seven days.
